It’s truly an honor to work with so many wonderful people and to help them improve their smiles. I feel lucky each and every day to come to work!
Education
In order to become an orthodontist, I first attained my undergraduate degree at Duke University, then graduated with my DDS from The University of North Carolina. Finally, I got my Masters in Orthodontics at The University of Nebraska.
Continuing Education
In order to provide the highest level of care for my patients, I know I must keep up-to-date on all the latest advances in orthodontics, general dentistry, oral surgery and periodontics. I see a wide variety of cases, and my continuing education allows me to gain the knowledge needed to treat my patients with greater care and efficiency.
As a part of my continuing education, I have worked hard to become Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. I am also an active member of the following professional organizations:
In the Office
I love to see our patients’ personalities develop as their smiles improve through the treatments given here. Our gentle care and personal treatment help people realize that they truly are special, and their new smiles help them feel confident enough to express themselves! I enjoy the enthusiasm and energy of our patients, and after 16 years am still thrilled to come to work each day.
My office is an unforgettable place, largely because of the efforts of our staff. Our team loves making our patients’ experience fun and unforgettable. They all really care about our patients and want them to receive fantastic orthodontic care. This shows in their service to our patients, the quality of treatments they help give, and most of all, the laughter heard in our treatment area!
Family Life
Besides creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Rick’s time away from the office is spent with his wife Dawn and their three children- Reid, Collin and Morgan. On the weekends you’ll find Dr. Rick traveling with his family, playing tennis, or walking his beloved dog Blu around the neighborhood.
Dr. Reid is thrilled to work alongside his father, Dr. Rick, in the practice that his grandfather started in 1968!
Dr. Reid graduated from Glastonbury High School in 2013 where he was the number one varsity tennis player for all four years! He then attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville where he received his bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Reid received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2021 from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He graduated from the University of Texas at Houston Orthodontics Residency with his Masters of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Reid has also taken an Aligner Intensive Fellowship and is very well versed in Orthodontic treatment using clear aligners.
” I am so thankful to have such wonderful mentors in my father and grandfather and want to continue their tradition of creating beautiful and healthy smiles in our community. I believe the smile is such an important part of a person’s confidence and appearance and want to help people achieve the smiles that they deserve.”
When not in the office, you can find Dr. Reid on the tennis court, golf course or on the beach spending time with family and friends!
